(N.Morgan) Our government’s repeated denials of radiation having hit the US shores, is being proven wrong, on a daily basis. The seafood in Japan, as well as here, is no longer safe, from the West Coast.
According to Half Moon Bay Review: An amateur video of a Geiger counter showing what appear to be high radiation levels at a Coast side beach has drawn the attention of local, state and federal public health officials. Since being posted last week, the short video has galvanized public concerns that radioactive material could be landing on the local coastline after traveling from Japan as a result of the 2011 meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi reactors.
As usual, the authorities didn’t think we needed to know any of this and continue to state we still don’t need to know any of what is really going on there.
Now we have to figure out how to handle this disaster and the consequences it could hold for our environment. My first suggestion is to avoid any seafood or any food that could be contaminated.
Our government and the Japanese government need to be honest with the citizens and peoples of their nations, so we can prepare and be ready for any of the fallout from this disaster.
